1972 Chevelle Malibu Restoration Timeline

I put this site together to log a chronological timeline of the frame off restoration I'm doing to my 1972 Chevelle Malibu.
 A little history about this car. I bought the car in February 2008. It had been sitting in Georgia for about 3 years. My brother picked it up and was told it was a 72 Chevelle. But by looking at the pictures that where sent to me I saw that it had a 70 front end on it and I said "NO IT'S A 70 CHEVELLE!" Well much to my surprise when I got it, I noticed that it had a 72 Chevelle bumper on the rear end. I ran the numbers and it turned out it was a 72 Chevelle with a 70 front clip on it. BUMMER! |

So being the kind of guy that can't live with a 70 front clip on a 72 Chevelle I decided to replace it with the correct front end and do a frame off restoration. I never took on a project like this before and having average auto mechanic skills I'm in it way over my head, but I'm having a blast! I'm just in the beginning stages with this project and I'm sure I will run out of money before I'm finished but that seems to be the nature of the beast.
